Los Angeles Clippers center Marcin Gortat was all praises for his new teammate Boban Marjanovic. In fact, he even compared Marjanovic to NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
Andrew Greif of the LA Times tweeted Gortat's entire statement below:
Marcin Gortat put little weight in the Clippers' preseason, saying the competition wasn't great BUT as for Boban Marjanovich (who averaged a hilarious 55.3 pts, 30.4 reb per 48 minutes in preseason) he thinks Boban can be a regular-season weapon.

Gortat's statements are just delusional. But he's probably just trying to make the case for his new teammate's short, but dominating surges.
The 30-year old Serbian is a freak of nature, as he stands at a towering 7-foot-3 and weighs 290 pounds. He also has made a name for himself as one of the most efficient per minute producers in the league.
As referenced by Greif, Marjanovic averaged a mind-boggling 55.3 points and 30.4 rebounds per 48 minutes in the preseason.
To put things into perspective, he only did average 10.4 minutes in those 5 preseason games. But, as mentioned, his per minute productivity is off the charts. He netted 12.0 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per games in those short spot minutes.
Article Continues BelowFor sure, though, if Boban was given a run of 25 to 30 minutes minutes a night, he probably won't be able to keep up this kind of production. He has had problems with his stamina, and he won't be able to keep up with the pace that the NBA is running right now.
However, he is still good for providing teams with efficient outbursts in limited minutes. Gortat believes that the Clippers can use Marjanovic to add some pressure on defenses at certain points in a game.
For his career, the Serbian behemoth has averaged 5.6 points on 56.4 percent shooting, and 3.7 rebounds, in just 8.9 minutes per game.
While there is no way for Boban to replicate the Hall of Fame career that Kareem Abdul-Jabbar had, he will look to continue to be the per-minute monster that he is.
