The 2018 NBA Draft is only a couple weeks away with the usual speculation starting to heat up about the best players available. Although the consensus seems to be that Arizona's Deandre Ayton being the top prospect and the player likely being selected by the Phoenix Suns at No. 1, Texas star Mohammed Bamba, or Mo Bamba as he come to be known, has started to make things interesting.

The former Longhorns center is expected to go in the top 10, but the recent buzz about the promising prospect may have him in the running to go top five or higher. Bamba was asked about why he believes he should be taken at the top of the draft and said the following, via Gerald Bourguet of Hoops Habit.

On June 21, all will be revealed with the Suns officially on the clock. Phoenix will more than likely pick a big man to play alongside rising star Devin Booker, but it remains to be seen which direction they'll end up going.

Other notable prospects in the upcoming NBA Draft include Marvin Bagley III (Duke), Trae Young (Oklahoma), Michael Porter Jr. (Missouri), and international sensation Luka Doncic (Real Madrid). All of these players mentioned could be the mix for the top spot along with Ayton and Bamba.

In his freshman campaign at Texas University, Bamba averaged 12.9 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 3.7 blocks per game. The 20-year-old Harlem native shot 54.1 percent from the floor, 27.5 percent from beyond the arc, and 68.1 percent from the charity stripe.

It'll be interesting to see whether the Suns go with what may be the safe bet in Ayton or decide to roll the dice on someone like Bamba come draft day.
