Two-time NBA champion and six-time All-Star Pau Gasol is seeking employment in the league again following his recovery from left foot surgery.
Gasol said his recovery from surgery has been “smooth” and added that he expects to be cleared for basketball activities in a month's time.
“My recovery from surgery has been smooth and I expect to be fully cleared for basketball activities in early August. I cannot wait to start training again,” Gasol said, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Gasol, selected third overall in the 2001 NBA Draft, last played for the Milwaukee Bucks. He would only appear in three games for Milwaukee, however.
Prior to his tenure with the Bucks, Gasol competed in two odd seasons with the San Antonio Spurs.

He's most known for the two titles he won with the Los Angeles Lakers following a trade that sent him from the Memphis Grizzlies to the City of Angels in February of 2008. Paired with former league MVP Kobe Bryant, Gasol provided a strong frontcourt presence for Phil Jackson's Lakers.
Gasol is turning 39 years old on July 6th and could be on his last legs in the NBA. He's one of the most well-known athletes from Spain, beloved in his home country. Along with younger brother Marc, the Gasol siblings have nine All-Star team honors, six All-NBA team mentions and three titles.
Marc Gasol won his first championship playing for the Toronto Raptors this past season.
Pau Gasol has career averages of 17.0 points, 9.2 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game in his fabled 18-year career. He has appeared in 1,226 games and played over 41,000 minutes, all while shooting 50.7 percent from the floor, 36.8 percent from 3-point range and 75.3 percent from the free throw line.
