Carmelo Anthony says he's never thought about having a farewell tour like his pal Dwyane Wade and would be at peace with retiring from the NBA if no team shows interest in signing him.

Anthony hasn't played in an NBA game since November of 2018. The future Hall of Famer played in just 10 games with the Houston Rockets before the franchise exiled him.

The Rockets traded Carmelo Anthony to the Chicago Bulls in January. The Bulls then waived Melo in February.

“I've never even thought about a farewell tour,” Anthony told Stephen A. Smith on ESPN's First Take. “I've thought about this being my last year, but that was at a time when I was really emotionally vulnerable. Now, I feel I still can still play. My peers know I still can play.

“I think I would be at peace. And I say that because right now I'm in limbo. I wake up every day and I got my same routine, my regimen. Go work out, do this A, B, and C. But if I know that this would be it, I would have to be at peace with that. So I can work on that knowing I won't be in limbo anymore and I can move on to do other things.”

Carmelo Anthony hasn't received interest from any teams since entering the open market on February. The 10-time All-Star averaged 13.4 points and 5.4 rebounds with the Rockets last season while shooting 40.5 percent from the field, 32.8 percent from beyond the arc and 68.2 percent from the free-throw line.
