The NBA G-League, or the NBA Development League, has been instrumental in developing players. One of the aims of the G-League is to sharpen players for NBA teams. In most cases, NBA scouts look to the G-League to select players that will help their teams win. Unfortunately, many NBA teams lack a G-League affiliate.

Apparently, as the NBA begins to evolve into a new generation, the goal is for every team to possess a G-League affiliate team.

This announcement should mean that the NBA will offer a variety of opportunities for undeveloped players. If every team has a G-League affiliate, Teams may begin to cut back on waivers, giving players an influx of chances to sustain their career.

The NBA has invested millions of dollars an time into its G-League program, even partnering with Gatorade to rename the program. It stands to reason that the league expects its teams to follow suit. In actuality, it may not be a bad idea.

Still, this may not be a fair estimate of how long it will take for all teams in the NBA to implement this program. It has been many years since the G-League program began and not every team sees the point in its use.

Maybe this announcement shows that the league is progressing towards a solution in giving players an option to make an NBA team. Hopefully, the league holds true to this estimate.
