Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James voiced his support for ESPN NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski after the network suspended him for an email he sent to Republican Senator Josh Hawley.

James tweeted out “#FreeWoj!!,” joining a growing list of players who have also backed Wojnarowski following news of his suspension.

Some players took a more humorous approach in assessing the situation.

Boston Celtics big man Enes Kanter tweeted out a GIF from “Avengers” as if to suggest all of NBA Twitter was prepared to go to war for Wojnarowski.

Brooklyn Nets combo guard Spencer Dinwiddie tweeted out his support, though he said he was taking The Athletic and Stadium NBA Insider Shams Charania in a “#Verszuz” battle.

This, of course, is an allusion to Wojnarowski and Charania often being among the top news breakers in NBA circles.

Other stars were slightly more reserved in their messaging.

Wojnarowski was in hot water after Hawley released an email Woj had sent him in a response to a memo the senator wrote to the league.

Hawley wrote to NBA Commissioner Adam Silver about the social justice messages the league would be allowing players to put on the back of their jerseys. Hawley asked why there were no options for messages of support for members of the military or police forces. He also chastised the league's involvement in China.

Wojnarowski responded with a succinct “F–k you” and promptly apologized following Hawley's release of the email.

Despite the suspension, however, Woj has received an outpouring of support both from his peers in the industry as well as players around the NBA.

LeBron James is just the latest to join the #FreeWoj campaign.
