Indiana Pacers head coach Nate McMillan admits he was a “nervous wreck going into the free-agent period.”

The Pacers had seven free agents this summer and all of them went elsewhere.

Thaddeus Young signed with the Chicago Bulls, Wesley Matthews signed with the Milwaukee Bucks, Bojan Bogdanovic signed with the Utah Jazz, Cory Joseph signed with the Sacramento Kings and Kyle O'Quinn signed with the Philadelphia 76ers.

Tyreke Evans was suspended by the NBA and Darren Collison retired. Luckily for Nate McMillan and the Pacers, Indiana made three key moves to bolster its roster.

The Pacers acquired Malcolm Brogdon, TJ Warren and Jeremy Lamb. Indiana traded for Brogdon and Warren and signed Lamb as a free agent.

“I was a nervous wreck going into the free-agent period with so many free agents,” McMillan, via Scott Agness of The Athletic. “You never know what’s going to happen, and exactly what I was thinking — it happened. We thought that we would be able to bring some of our guys back.

“July 1 comes and I think that we’re going to sign a couple of our guys back and all of a sudden it’s a 360 and … I don’t think it could have come out any better than it did.”

The Pacers will start the season without All-Star shooting guard Victor Oladipo. He's still recovering from his knee injury.

The additions of Brogdon, Warren and Lamb were huge for Indiana. All three guys can score the ball pretty well, something they will have to do while Oladipo is out.
