If the 2019-20 regular season doesn't resume, Vince Carter's legendary NBA career has reached its end. The man they used to call Half-Man/Half-Amazing is retiring from the NBA after a brilliant playing career which saw him net over $172 million through NBA contracts, per Spotrac.

The first NBA contract Carter signed was his rookie deal with the Toronto Raptors. It was a three-year contract worth $6.45 million. Vince averaged 18.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists during his rookie season. He made $1,760,000 and won the Rookie of the Year Award.

In his second season in the NBA, Vince Carter increased his scoring average to 25.7 points per game and made his first All-Star team. He earned $2,267,280 and was starting to establish himself as one of the best young scorers in the game.

That continued during Carter's third year as well. Vince put up 27.6 points a night while making $2,425,440. He was all set to sign a lucrative rookie-scale extension with the Raptors.

Before the 2001-02 season started, the Raptors signed Carter to a six-year, $85 million rookie-scale extension. The contract was set to kick in during the 2002-03 season. Vinsanity made $3,073,032 in 2001-02 while putting up 24.7 points per game. His annual salary jumped up to $10,067,750 in 2002-03. Carter averaged 20.6 points that year.

Over time, Vince Carter's relationship with Raptors management became strained. Eventually, the two sides parted ways in December of 2004. Toronto traded Carter to the New Jersey Nets. Vince made $12,584,688 that year and finished the season with averages of 24.5 points and 5.2 rebounds in 77 games with the Raptors and Nets.

The 2005-06 campaign was Carter's first full season with the Nets. He earned $13,843,156 and averaged 24.2 points, 5.8 rebounds and 4.3 assists.

In the summer of 2007, Vince Carter signed a four-year, $61.6 million contract with the Nets after exercising his early termination option. V.C. made $13,320,000 during the 2007-08 season and $14,724,125 in 2008-09. Carter finished his Nets career with averages of 23.6 points per game. The franchise wound up trading him to the Orlando Magic in the summer of 2009.

Carter made $16,123,250 during the 2009-10 season in Orlando, He averaged 16.6 points in 75 games. The following campaign, Air Canada split time between the Magic and Phoenix Suns. Orlando traded Carter to the Suns in December of 2010. The former high-flyer made $17,522,375 during the 2010-11 campaign.

Vince Carter played 51 games with the Suns before getting bought out in December of 2011. After clearing waivers, Carter signed a three-year, $9.27 million contract with the Dallas Mavericks. He made $2,414,634 during the 2011-12 campaign, $3,090,000 in 2012-13 and $3,180,000 in 2013-14. Vince averaged 12.0 points per game during his Dallas tenure.

In the offseason of 2014, Carter joined the Memphis Grizzlies on a three-year, $12 million contract. He averaged 6.9 points in his three seasons with the team before signing with the Sacramento Kings in the summer of 2017. Carter signed a one-year deal worth $8 million. He put up 5.4 points per game in his lone season in Sacramento.

During the summer of 2018, Vince Carter signed a one-year, $2.39 million contract with the Atlanta Hawks. He followed that up by signing a one-year, $2.56 million deal in the offseason of 2019, which turned out to be his final NBA contract.

Carter was averaging 5.0 points in 2019-20 before games were suspended due to COVID-19.

If Vince Carter's NBA career is really over, then it has been one helluva ride for the former North Carolina Tar Heel. He will have finished his pro career with averages of 16.7 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.1 assists in 1,541 games. Carter was an eight-time All-Star as well.
