The Golden State Warriors looked ready to cruise into the Western Conference Finals, but two losses in Houston have suddenly left their semifinals series tied, and the team scrambling to figure out what happened.
One of the biggest factors in the team dropping two games in Houston has been Klay Thompson’s poor play, and with free agency fast approaching, some are hearing that the star guard could be unhappy.

Speaking on First Take earlier today, Stephen A. Smith noted that he was told by sources that Klay Thompson is unhappy with his role in Golden State. According to Smith’s sources, Thompson isn’t happy getting the “crumbs” that are leftover from the rest of the star-powered Warriors. Although Thompson is a crucial piece to what makes the Warriors good, it seems as if the Splash Brother is ready to test out free agency.
Smith goes on to mention that he’s heard that a number of legitimate front office legends, including Pat Riley and Jerry West, have urged the Warriors to try and keep Klay Thompson at all costs. Of course, losing Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson would be catastrophic for the Warriors, as the team could likely survive without one of them, but not both.
Of course, this could also just be hearsay given the current situation with the Warriors. Thompson has been underperforming this postseason, and the team is obviously unhappy with losing back-to-back games against the Rockets. As the old saying goes, winning cures everything, and if the Warriors can find a way to get themselves past the Rockets and win another championship, who knows how everyone will feel in the summer.
