The Golden State Warriors have hopes of getting back atop the mountain, winning yet another NBA Championship this season. But those hopes took a big hit when Warriors superstar guard Stephen Curry injured his foot in a loss against the Boston Celtics Wednesday night. On Sunday, Curry spoke to the media, addressing his rehab and potential to return in time for the postseason, captured by Marc Stein.

“I've been told… you want to not rush the beginning phase of the healing because that is where you get the most progress… when you put your shoe on and get back on the court, you aren't dealing with any crazy soreness or anything. This is one, if you push it too soon, it can linger.”

Curry was then asked by a reporter about returning in time for the playoffs.

“Yeah, we got enough time for that. I am an optimist though,” Curry said with a wry smile.

Over the last few years, whenever Curry has missed time with injury, the Warriors have struggled immensely.

Golden State has already dealt with a rash of injuries this entire season. Superstar Klay Thompson missed most of the season recovering from his torn achilles. Draymond Green has also missed a large portion of the year. Just when it looked like the Warriors will get their big three together for the stretch run, Curry was injured.

From the sound of Curry, it's possible he is back at the start of the playoffs. But it would be shocking if it were any sooner, and likely might be later. That's a tough situation for Golden State, as the Memphis Grizzlies have the Warriors for second place in the western conference.
