Anthony Davis is by far one of the most talented players in the NBA today. Selected as the first pick in the 2012 NBA Draft, Davis lived up to his potential and hype. The 6-foot-10 power forward has revolutionized the game with his unorthodox game that involves high-efficiency shooting, quality defense, and versatility. Currently, Davis is averaging 26.4 points, 10.6 rebounds, and 1.2 steals. He is also an above-average 3-point shooter for his position, converting 34.6 percent of his 3-point attempts this season, and shooting 54.7 percent in the field. Amazingly, at just 24 years of age, Davis is only 32 points away from breaking the Pelicans' scoring record.

One interesting factoid pointed out in the tweet is that Davis has scored 32 points in 12 of his 44 games this season. Over the course of the season, Davis has proved that he is a dynamic scorer that can get buckets in a variety of ways. Therefore, this record will and should be broken very soon. In fact, now that DeMarcus Cousins is out for the rest of the season with a torn Achilles, Davis will have to shoulder all of the scoring load for the Pelicans. The Pelicans are currently 27-23 in the Western Conference, which ranks them 7th place in their conference. If the team is going to make the playoffs, Davis is going to have to put the team on his back and will them to the postseason.
On Friday night, the Pelicans will take on the Thunder, one of the Western Conference's elite teams. The spotlight will be on Davis, who is expected to break the record and lead his team to an impressive victory.
