Finally, the impossible has happened! The New York Knicks won their first playoff game since 2013. Led by Derrick Rose, yes you read that correctly, the Knicks were able to pull off a Game 2 win over the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday night. Rose recorded 26 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists to clinch the victory.

It's been a long time since Madison Square Garden got rocking in the postseason but they finally did it. Knicks fans everywhere rejoiced in pride and happiness. Malika Andrews shared a glimpse into the celebration of New York's playoff win.

It's quite the scene as the entire arena partook in the “Go New York Go New York Go” song. Fans have been waiting for this moment for eight years. Just under a decade ago was New York's last playoff win and the world has changed drastically since then. Life was different back in 2013 and life has modified since then. With that said, here are four things that have happened since the Knicks last won an NBA Playoff game.

“Selfie” was a word that was just beginning to take off.

Instagram was launched in 2010 while Snapchat started in 2011. However, neither social media site truly became popular until 2013. This was when smartphones became substantially more popular as well, as the iPhone 4 was the first smartphone to introduce the front-facing camera in 2010.

Three years later every smartphone came with a front-facing camera and thus, the selfie was born. With Instagram and Snapchat growing in popularity, people started taking selfies at an exhilarating rate. The last time the Knicks won a playoff game, people were just getting acclimated with the term “selfie.”

The Harlem Shake was making its rounds on the internet.

Who could forget the Harlem Shake? The trend was taking over the internet by storm and had everyone enthralled. From regular, everyday people, to celebrities and professional athletes, you couldn't scroll through social media without seeing at least one Harlem Shake video. No matter how annoying you thought they were, you likely watched a handful of videos or even participated in one. For a quick flashback to 2013, or if you have no idea what I'm talking about, here's the famous Miami Heat Harlem Shake video, thanks to StudioVybz.

Pretty revolutionizing stuff. If this is your first time seeing it then you're probably feeling as lost as we did back in 2013. Hopefully, this is an internet fad that stays in the past while the Knicks continue to make the playoffs at a consistent rate.

Vine was entertaining everyone in up to 6-second videos

Remember the days of doing nothing on your couch and scrolling through Vine videos for hours? It was a truly remarkable time. Vine allowed for everyone's inner comedian to be let out. If you don't remember or are too young enough to know what Vine is, it was essentially a less complicated version of Tik-Tok. The only catch was the longest you could make a video was six seconds.

Six seconds was all you needed to get a good laugh going. Vine made for some of the funniest content the internet had ever seen, but it had its downfall too. You can credit Vine for catapulting the careers of Logan and Jake Paul, as Logan grew a large crowd through comedic videos on the app. So there you have it, the last time the Knicks won a playoff game nobody knew who the Paul brothers were. I guess that's the price we have to pay for New York to be good again.
