Enes Kanter has become one of the most entertaining players in the NBA, especially when it comes to off-the-court quotes and actions. He has taken on multiple stars and tried to recruit LeBron James to the New York Knicks. Now, he is happily embracing the role of mentor.
According to a report from SNY, Kanter is excited to be a mentor for Knicks' rookie Mitchell Robinson.
âI remember my first year. I didn't play college. He didn't play college. My first year I was very rusty. That's why Al Jefferson helped me a lot. My job is to help him with everything. On the court stuff. Off the court stuff. He's done an unbelievable job putting the effort in, the work in.â
Even though Kanter knows that Robinson's development could eat into some of his minutes, he is still going to do everything he can to help the young big man through his first NBA season.

It has been a long time since the Knicks were viewed as a contender in the Eastern Conference. They have gone through some rough years, but are finally seeing the light at the end of the rebuilding tunnel. Robinson is going to be a key piece of what they do in the future.
New York is ready to open their preseason schedule on Monday against the Washington Wizards. Fans could not be more excited to get their first glimpses of the team, especially with the young talent they have put together.
Kanter may not be the guy that most envision when they think of a mentor, but he has been through the ups and downs of the NBA. Perhaps he is exactly what Robinson needs to help unlock his full potential.
