New York Knicks rookie RJ Barrett has shown flashes of brilliance in his first year in the NBA, but one league personnel believes his ceiling is pretty limited.
According to Marc Berman of the New York Post, an NBA personnel believes that Barrett will get better with time. However, the said source pointed out that Barrett doesn't look like he will be that Hall-of-Fame type player that the Knicks are desperately searching for.
To further emphasize the point, the NBA personnel compared Barrett's career to something like Khris Middleton's of the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Knicks guard has been overshadowed by the likes of Ja Morant and Zion Williamson in Rookie of the Year talks. In fact, Barrett’s debut started out relatively quieter, though he isn’t slacking in any way. He has averaged a decent 14.3 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.6 assists in the 2019-20 campaign.
Interestingly though, RJ Barrett has been on a scoring tear before the campaign was put on hold, averaging 18.7 points over six games played in March. His latest performance came with 26 points in an impressive overtime win against the Atlanta Hawks.
The Knicks rookie also started March with a close win against the Houston Rockets. Consequently, the game saw him record a career-high 27 points.
Only time will tell what Barrett can achieve in the NB. However, one thing has been pretty certain this 2019-20: he is a hard worker and hungry to prove his doubters wrong.
