The Oklahoma City Thunder are set to take on the Toronto Raptors on Sunday. While they have been a bit of a surprise this season after trading both Paul George and Russell Westbrook, they are not legitimate contenders in the Western Conference. Unfortunately, the Thunder are going to have to play Sunday's game without point guard Dennis Schroder.
According to a report from Maddie Lee of Oklahoman Sports, Schroder will miss this week's game due to an ankle injury.
Dennis Schröder (right ankle soreness) is listed as out for the Thunder’s game at Toronto tomorrow. He was questionable with the same injury at Charlotte yesterday but played 35 minutes and scored 24 points.

Schroder has been a quality depth piece for the Thunder this season. In the 31 games he has played, he has come off the bench in every one of them. He has averaged 18.4 points per game to go along with 3.8 rebounds and 3.7 assists.

In addition to those averages, Schroder has shot 46.9 percent from the floor overall and has knocked down 34.6 percent of his three-point attempts.
At 26 years old, there is a good chance that Schroder is auditioning for his next NBA opportunity. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has become the franchise point guard of the future for the Thunder. That could make Schroder available on the trade market ahead of the trade deadline or in the upcoming offseason.
Following this season, Schroder does have one more season on his contract. He is owed $15.5 million next season, which makes his contract fairly easy to move.
All of that being said, Schroder will miss Sunday's game against the Raptors and the Thunder will need another player to pick up his scoring off the bench.
