Both the Pacers and the Pelicans are playoff-bound if the season were to start today.
The Pacers are currently at sixth place in the Eastern Conference with a 30-25 record. They have won six of their last nine games and are looking to gain more ground in the coming games. Indiana is only a game behind the fifth-placed Milwaukee Bucks and only a game and a half away from the Cleveland Cavaliers who are in third place.
As for the Pelicans, the team was hit by the injury bug before the All-Star break when DeMarcus Cousins went down with a season-ending injury two weeks ago. The team hopes that the acquisition of Nikola Mirotic will at least compensate for the loss of the other half of the Pelicans’ Twin Towers.
New Orleans is currently in eighth place in the Western Conference and have lost four of their last five games.
