The Portland Trail Blazers are set to get shooting guard CJ McCollum back after a two-month absence. According to a report, the 29-year-old will return to the lineup for Portland's Tuesday night tilt against the New Orleans Hornets.

This report comes via Shams Charania of The Athletic:

The last we saw McCollum take the floor was on January 16 and he's been forced to sit out no less than 25 games with his foot injury. As such, McCollum should be in some sort of minutes restriction in his first game back. It is also worth noting that the Blazers have a back-to-back set on Thursday and Friday, so it wouldn't be surprising if McCollum ends up sitting out one of those contests.

This comes as a welcome development for Portland with the team in the midst of a tight race in the bottom half of the playoffs picture out West. At 22-16, the Blazers are tied with the Denver Nuggets for the fifth spot in the conference. However, only three and a half games separate them from the 10th-placed Memphis Grizzlies.

With McCollum back in action, Damian Lillard will get some much-needed help in the backcourt. Dame has done a wondrous job in carrying the Blazers thus far, but he's certainly going to welcome McCollum back with open arms.

The Blazers are still missing a key piece of their squad in Jusuf Nurkic, who is still rehabbing a wrist injury. However, reports state that Nurk is likewise close to a return which is definitely something to look forward to for Portland.
