Portland Trail Blazers All-Star guard Damian Lillard has quickly become one of the most accessible players in the NBA over social media.
When a fan recently tweeted at him a flattering compliment that he was better former Los Angeles Lakers great Kobe Bryant, Lillard issued back a hilarious response.

Although he could have easily stated that he was indeed better, Lillard displayed the self-recognition that Bryant was one of the best players to play the game. In many ways, he was the closest thing to Michael Jordan on the court that the league has seen.
Article Continues BelowBryant has set numerous league records while racking up many individual awards along the way that has him a near shoe-in as a first-ballot Hall of Famer when he times comes to get inducted.
That said, Lillard has carved out his own path in the NBA as one of the elite point guards. He has already become the 10th player in NBA history to record at least 8,000 points and 2,000 assists in his first five NBA seasons joining the likes of Jordan, Isiah Thomas, Larry Bird, Oscar Robertson, and LeBron James. He is also just the second player in NBA history to make at least 1,000 3-pointers in his first five campaigns.
Lillard is also coming off his best individual season where he averaged a career-high 27.0 points on 44.4 percent shooting from the field and 37 percent from beyond the arc. The 27-year-old isn't slighting himself in any manner, but the same time he has certainly made a name for himself through his first five seasons in the NBA.
