Portland Trail Blazers head coach Terry Stotts says his guys have to do a better job of putting bodies on the big men of the Denver Nuggets.
The Nuggets are killing the Blazers on the boards this series, especially in offensive rebounds. The Nuggets grabbed 23 offensive rebounds in Game 2, 24 in Game 3 and 17 in Game 4.
“We’ve got to do a better job of putting bodies on them,” Stotts said, via Jason Quick of The Athletic. “Sometimes it’s bad bounces. Sometimes they are more aggressive going after the ball.”

The Blazers and Nuggets are tied at 2-2. Denver won Game 4 on Sunday in Portland, reclaiming home-court advantage. The Blazers have to win Game 5 in Denver if they want to take home-court back.
The Nuggets have 71 total offensive rebounds in four games. The Blazers have 52. Portland has to box out on every shot and secure the rebound. Portland can't afford to give the Nuggets extra possessions. This is where the Blazers really miss Jusuf Nurkić, who averaged 10.4 rebounds per game during the regular season before he suffered a gruesome leg injury which ended his season.
Game 5 of this series is on Tuesday. The Blazers won Game 2 in Denver, so they will be confident heading into this big game.
