The NBA handed out the Coach of the Month honors for the month of February on Friday, with Portland Trail Blazers head coach Terry Stotts receiving the designation for the Western Conference and Milwaukee Bucks head coach Mike Budenholzer for the Eastern Conference. Both coaches were beyond deserving and have led their teams to an exceptional month.

Through their nine games in the shortened month of February, the Blazers posted a record of 6-3. This was tied with the best winning percentage in the conference for the month with the Houston Rockets, who played three more games including an additional loss.

As well as having the fewest losses in the conference, Portland was also a top ten offense and defense through the month. Per 100 possessions, the team scored a fourth best 116 points and allowed an eighth fewest 109.2 points.

Big wins over teams like the Boston Celtics, Philadelphia 76ers, San Antonio Spurs, and a monster 22-point demolition of the Golden State Warriors helped seal the deal for coach Terry Stotts.

The Bucks, meanwhile, have been unstoppable for the month of February as well. Their league-best record of 10-1 for the month has them as the only team in the league to win at least 10 games, and one of two teams to only lose once.

During this stretch, Milwaukee had the eighth best offense in the league, scoring 114.3 points per 100 possessions, and the third best defense, only giving up 105.9 points per 100 possessions. Being able to incorporate Nikola Mirotic into the rotation without any hiccups was indicative of how consistent of a job Mike Budenholzer has done with this deep Bucks team.
