Throughout the San Antonio Spurs’ incredibly long run of being a league powerhouse, much of the credit should go to Gregg Popovich.
The culture he cultivated within the franchise became the standard for NBA teams, and players or staff coming from San Antonio are usually heralded for having the Spurs pedigree.
It’s all about winning for the grizzled veteran coach, and his recent conquest of Mike D’Antoni and the Houston Rockets catapulted him to a unique place in NBA history.

When it’s all said and done, he could very well be recognized as the GOAT of NBA coaches. For now, his name on that lofty recognition only makes for a good debate, which isn’t a knock on Gregg Popovich.
