Dallas Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle believes that DeMar DeRozan of the San Antonio Spurs is one of the best two-point players in history.
As per Jeff McDonald of the San Antonio Express-News, Carlisle said:
Rick Carlisle on DeMar DeRozan's mid-range game: "I would have to think in the annals of modern history, he is one of the best two-point players there has been."

Everyone probably agrees with Carlisle's assumption. Fans, critics, and even foes have compared DeRozan's midrange expertise to that of the great Kobe Bryant. And it's not just the buckets that have invited the comparison. His footwork and spate of moves have also earned praise from all over the league.

He knows that he has one of the most lethal offensive talents in the league. Besides, Popovich always knows how to utilize his players to the max.
In the young season, DeRozan is averaging a career-high 27.2 points and 7.8 assists per game. His scoring is not a surprise since this is what he's been doing he entered the league. What's impressive is the number of assists. And perhaps this is there due to his midrange game. Defenders have to be honest when guarding DeRozan. When he's inside the arc, one should be on the lookout for that dreaded jumper. Because more often than not, when he rises up, it's money.
Nevertheless, he's been great so far for the Spurs.
