Philadelphia 76ers big man Joel Embiid is a special talent, but he is apparently terrified of both water and the slides that are used to make the former even more awesome.

Fine. Fine. To be fair to him, he might not be scared of water on its own. It might only be the combination of water with the slide that causes him to turn into the first person killed in a niche horror movie (save your jokes).
This video isn't the only reason Joel Embiid was in the news this weekend. According to Keith Pompey of philly.com, Embiid is looking to kick things up a notch next year in his pursuit for the NBA’s MVP award:
Article Continues Below“I feel like next year is definitely going to be a type of MVP season for me,” Joel Embiid said. “But it starts with my body. And the skills. I love being in the gym. I don’t feel like taking any time off.
The former third overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft averaged 22.9 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks per game this past season. Him looking to improve to the point that a 23-10-2 season looks only OK and good enough should terrify the entire landscape of the league.
Then again, maybe opposing coaches will sign a variety of different currently unemployed water slides to get him out of the paint?
