Embiid, now 23 years of age, is one of the best big men the NBA has to offer. In his 41 games played this season, the former University of Kansas stand-out has turned in averages of 23.7 points on 48.7 percent shooting from the field (29.3 percent from beyond the arc), 11.0 rebounds, and 3.3 assists.
Article Continues BelowEmbiid racked up 27 points, 12 rebounds, and three blocks in Tuesday night's 115-102 victory over the Washington Wizards. If he is unable to play in Friday night's game, Sixers head coach Brett Brown will likely call on Amir Johnson to man the paint.
“We knew it was going to be amazing, so we had to come out and play up to the competition,” Embiid said after Tuesday's win over the Wizards.
Although they managed to defeat the Wizards on Tuesday night, the Sixers, now the 3rd-ranked team in the Atlantic Division standings with a 26-25 overall record, have struggled to find a rhythm as of late, as they've lost four of their last six games.
Friday night's Sixers-Pelicans game is set to tip at 7:00 p.m. EST inside the Wells Fargo Center. Be sure to keep your browsers locked on ClutchPoints for more updates on thie topic as they become available.
