Since making his return from a quadriceps injury earlier this month, it has been a physical uphill battle for San Antonio Spurs All-Star forward Kawhi Leonard.

This has featured him sitting out a couple of games in the process as he gets further acclimated to playing again. According to Paul Garcia of Project Spurs, the Spurs have decided to continue to take this approach for Saturday's contest against the Sacramento Kings by holding Leonard out of the lineup.

Although it has been a huge positive for the Spurs to get Leonard back in the mix, it's quite clear that he is still adjusting physically from the injury. Keep in mind, he had missed nearly the first three months of the regular season due to it.

San Antonio has been carefully monitoring the situation by playing him on a minute restriction over the last couple of weeks as he's averaging 10.5 points on 50 percent shooting from the field with 4.8 rebounds, 1.3 assists in 17.3 minutes per contest in four games played. He has scored in double-figures three times while shooting 50 percent or better.

This will likely continue to remain the plan of action with Leonard until he can prove that he can physically handle an increased workload. In the meantime, this will place a greater offensive responsibility on LaMarcus Aldridge, Danny Green, and Dejounte Murray against the Kings on Saturday night.
