Despite the many rumors that plagued him during his time with the Chicago Bulls, if there is one thing that has never been put in question about Jimmy Butler is his admirable work ethic.

A former last pick of the first round of the 2011 NBA Draft, Butler has conditioned himself to go from what could have been a mediocre career in the league after averaging 2.6 and 8.6 points during his first two seasons, to a bona fide 20-point scorer during his last three.

The 27-year-old Houston native isn't only a torment on the defensive end and one of the best two-way players in the league, but also a maniacal workout addict, who follows a strict routine, no matter the day or issue.

Butler isn't just one of the most athletic specimens in the NBA, but also one who has had to battle injuries early in his career, making the shift to a workout regimen that didn't just show results, but made him into a chiseled gladiator on the court.

“He's a serial killer's dream,” said his personal strength trainer Travelle Gaines, who has clients like elite NFL receivers Antonio Brown and Demaryius Thomas, according to Michael Pina of Vice Sports. “He does the same s**t every f**king day.”

Butler wakes up religiously at 5:45 a.m. and is on the court by 6 o'clock sharp, with workouts that would be a complete nightmare to the casual workout partner. His meals are strict, containing scrambled egg whites, turkey bacon, and turkey sausage, along with a protein shake — maximizing protein intake and minimizing saturated fats.

While others in his profession use their time to hit the nightclub, he has cut out alcohol, as well as red meat — making him an even more fortified version of his already athletic self.

Butler will now have a chance to put his clinical workouts to fruition with added help as a member of the Timberwolves, counting with many other stars to ease the load placed on his shoulders during the last few years.
