Kyle Lowry was in full support of Anthony Davis requesting a trade from the New Orleans Pelicans ahead of the looming trade deadline. The Toronto Raptors guard argued that time is short and players must do what makes them happy.
“Hey man, whatever makes him happy,' said Lowry, according to TSN's Josh Lewenberg. “This brotherhood is small and you've gotta do what makes you happy. That's all that really matters in our brotherhood. We want each other to be happy.”
Davis requested a trade on Friday, but the news went viral on Monday, once his agent Rich Paul told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski that his client had informed the team in efforts of being transparent and giving them a chance to get assets back in exchange.
The Brow has no intentions of signing a contract extension with the team and said he prefers to wind up in a championship contender, with many executives around the league expecting Davis and his agent to say the Los Angeles Lakers are his preferred spot.

“I mean, people talk about it. It's a topic of conversation,” said Lowry. “People speak about it. I mean, that's the truth.”
Head coach Nick Nurse was shocked about the timing of the trade request, but surely not of the onslaught of coverage it got from the national media.
“Yeah, I guess I'm always surprised about that kind of news. I'm surprised when these guys want to leave. I'm not surprised at how much media coverage it's going to get though. I won't be surprised by that.”
