Saturday's clash between the Indiana Pacers and the Toronto Raptors was abruptly suspended in the second quarter after a rather alarming incident inside Toronto's Scotiabank Arena.

According to Raptors beat writer Josh Lewenberg of TSN Sports, a small fire broke out inside the stadium prompting the city's fire services to call for an emergency evacuation of everyone inside the building:

Per Raps PR, there's a small electrical fire in a speaker above section 103. Although there is no threat to public safety, Scotiabank Arena is being evacuated per request from Toronto Fire Services. Game has been suspended with 4:05 left in 1st half & Raptors leading Pacers 66-38.

It does not sound like anyone was harmed during the incident and the damage should be minimal. However, it's always safety first for the players and the fans, which is why this was the absolute right call to make.

No further details have been released at the moment but we should expect an official statement from the NBA soon. The announcement should also include when this game will be replayed and if it's possible to pick it up right where they left off, particularly since the Raptors had a significant lead over the Pacers in what was turning out to be a major blowout.
