With the Toronto Raptors relieving Dwane Casey of his duties today, they will start a coaching search immediately, looking for a guy who can get them over the hump and to the promised land.

According to David Aldridge of TNT, two of the guys they will look at for the next coaching job are already in-house.

Rex Kalamian and Nick Nurse who were part of Casey's staff will get a crack at the job, along with former Atlanta Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer.

For Kalamian, he has been in the league since 2002 when he started as a scout for L.A. Clippers. He was a longtime assistant under Scott Brooks with the Oklahoma City Thunder before joining the Raptors in 2015.

For Nurse, he has been a coach in some capacity since 1989. He spent a lot of time overseas as a head coach. He came back to the states and was the D-League head coach of the Iowa Energy from 2007-2011 and the Rio Grande Valley Vipers from 2011-2013. He joined the Raptors staff as an assistant in 2013.

Both of the guys already on the staff have been crucial in developing the Toronto Raptors into what they are today. If the Raptors decide to give someone their first head coaching job, these two have a foot up compared to everyone else.

If the Raptors decide to go with someone that already has head coaching experience, the leader in the clubhouse at this point is Budenholzer. He is just a few years removed from the Coach of the Year award, and with the talent already on the roster, he seems like a good fit.
