The Toronto Raptors suffered their first loss of the season on Monday night at the hands of the undefeated Milwaukee Bucks. Despite the 124-109 loss, it wasn't all that bad for Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry as he just passed Doug Christie as the all-time leader in steals for the franchise.
Lowry did not have the best of games, scoring only nine points on 3-of-14 shooting. He went 0-of-9 from distance and also had four turnovers in 34 minutes of action. He did dole out a season-high 15 assists on the evening, and he also recorded two steals to set the franchise record.

Nevertheless, Lowry surely would have taken the W as opposed to this incredible individual achievement.

The Raptors were without cornerstone superstar Kawhi Leonard, who was rested for the marquee matchup against the Bucks. Milwaukee also happened to miss the services of star Giannis Antetokounmpo, who is currently in the league's concussion protocol after taking an inadvertent elbow to the head in Saturday's matchup against the Orlando Magic.
Despite struggling to make his shot against the Bucks, Lowry stepped up in Leonard's absence in other ways. The four-time All-Star orchestrated the team's offense, and he helped the likes of Serge Ibaka (30 points) and Pascal Siakam (22 points) do the heavy lifting for the team.
Kyle Lowry is currently in the second season of his three-year, $90 million deal, which is set to expire after the 2019-20 season. An extension could be looming as the Raptors don't seem to have any desire of letting the 32-year-old walk away, though things could change depending on what happens with Leonard.
