The Toronto Raptors will be without All-Star point guard Kyle Lowry on Thursday when they take on the San Antonio Spurs.

Kyle Lowry is dealing with a back injury which required pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory injections last week.

Kyle Lowry has appeared in 30 games this season for the Raptors. The four-time All-Star is averaging 14.4 points, 4.5 rebounds and 9.8 assists per game while shooting 43.3 percent from the field, 32.5 percent from beyond the arc and 84.5 percent from the free-throw line.

Toronto enters Thursday with the best record in the NBA at 28-11.

It's going to be an emotional and raucous crowd in San Antonio on Thursday. Kawhi Leonard is making his return to the AT&T Center, a place he called home for seven years. Spurs shooting guard DeMar DeRozan is facing off against the team he holds multiple franchise records for. DeRozan and Leonard were traded for one another in the offseason.

There is no timetable for Kyle Lowry's return to the court. While Lowry is out, Fred VanVleet will start for the Raptors at the point guard spot. VanVleet is averaging 10.1 points per game on the season and shooting 40.6 percent overall and 36.4 percent from the 3-point line.

Lowry probably would have loved to play against his pal DeRozan, but this back injury he's been dealing with has been an issue for quite some time now.
