WWE Smackdown Live brought its act north of the border on Tuesday, as it made an appearance at Scotiabank Arena in downtown Toronto. But at least one duo of the was not particularly respectful of one of the building’s tenants — the Raptors.
As the Ilconics’ Billie Kay and Petron Royce were making their way to the ring, Kay tried to rile up the crowd by taking a shot at the franchise, saying that she thinks that the NBA team will have a “dismal” 2018-19 campaign ahead.

The fans in the house were not ones to take that comment sitting down, though, as the arena immediately reverberated with loud spontaneous chants of “Let’s go, Raptors.”
It’s probably too soon to make fun of the Raptors. The team might not be over yet dealing with nightmares of LeBron James fadeaways during the last playoffs and the departure of DeMar DeRozan. But the Ilconics were obviously not ones to sympathize with Raptors fans.

If anything, it’s a good thing that Kay and Royce did not say the same for the Toronto Maple Leafs because it could’ve gotten ugly.
