After a slow start, the Cleveland Cavaliers cruised to a 115-84 win over the Toronto Raptors in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals. The game was more evidence for what most analytics expect of the series: the Raptors might grab a game or two, but the Cavs are nearly guaranteed the series win.
Despite the Game 1 loss and the lack of confidence from the NBA world, the Raptors aren't phased. Toronto's Terrence Ross spoke to cleveland.com's Chris Hayes before Game 2:
Article Continues Below“We beat them (twice in the regular season), so we don't feel like we have anything to fear like they're a super team or anything. But we're just going out there to play our game and compete.”
Both of the Raptors' regular season wins against the Cavs were in Toronto. If the NBA's Canadian squad wants a chance at upsetting LeBron James and his teammates, they'll have to play better than the first game of this series, and steal some games in Cleveland.
