Toronto Raptors superfan Nav Bhatia, mayor John Tory and Paramount CEO Mohamad Fakih have created a petition for the city of Toronto in regards to Raptors superstar small forward Kawhi Leonard.

Bhatia wants the people of Toronto to give Leonard the privacy he deserves after leading the Raptors to the 2019 NBA championship. Leonard has been out and about in Toronto after the Finals ended and he's been followed by fans everywhere who are trying to take pictures with him.

Bhatia understands that everyone wants to get a glimpse of Leonard, but he says the two-time Finals MVP would appreciate Toronto even more if he gets his space this offseason.

“We are asking everyone to give Kawhi a chance to experience our beautiful city and country without being pressured to answer if he is staying or continuously having a camera following his every move,” he said in a statement. “Instead let's sign the petition, leave our comments to him and let him read them at his leisure. Let's all enjoy a championship summer together.”

Leonard becomes an unrestricted free agent this summer once he declines his 2019-20 player option with the Raptors. If the two-time Finals MVP decides to leave the Raptors, he will likely sign with the Los Angeles Clippers.

This is a great move by city leaders. If Leonard sees the people of Toronto giving him some privacy with his family this offseason, he might decide to re-sign with the Raptors. After all, Kawhi won't get any privacy in Los Angeles since there's paparazzi roaming around the city all the time.
