Utah Jazz star Donovan Mitchell has been a strong advocate for the Black Lives Matter movement in the NBA. This is exactly why it comes to no surprise that the 24-year-old came out with a hot take on a Utah school's controversial policy on Black History Month.

According to reports, the Maria Montessori Academy has given the parents of their students the option to opt-out of commemorating Black History Month. Mitchell caught wind of what he considers to be a travesty in his own city, and he did not hold back with his criticism (via Mitchell's own Twitter account):

Celine Castronuovo of The Hill details in her report how the decision of the school's director to green-light this polarizing policy stems from some of the parents raising concerns about their unwillingness to have their child participate in the Black History Month curriculum. The director even went on to say that her decision is only in line with the parents' civil rights not to take part in the same.

Mitchell was clearly incensed with this development and he made sure to make his true feelings known.

This is not the first time Mitchell has come out with a scathing rant on issues of systemic racism. Last year, the Jazz guard had a very strong reaction to the Jacob Blake shooting.

In the past, Donovan Mitchell has unsurprisingly received some criticism for voicing out his opinions. However, the hate has only served as fuel for him. Needless to say, he's definitely not the type who intends to just shut up and dribble.
