Heading into Sunday's game, the Jazz are in the fifth spot in the Western Conference with a 49-30 record. They're just one game behind the fourth-seeded Portland Trail Blazers. With three games left in the regular seas, the Jazz have a chance to move up a seed. They'll enter the matchup on a seven-game winning streak.
The Lakers, meanwhile, will continue to field a roster sans LeBron James, Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, and Brandon Ingram. They currently have a 36-44 record and have split the last 10 games, 5-5.
It'll be interesting to see how both injury-ridden teams will match up on Sunday. The Lakers still have the likes of Rajon Rondo and JaVale McGee to fuel the Lakers' offense and defense. The Jazz, meanwhile, have star guard Donovan Mitchell, defensive stalwart Rudy Gobert, and Joe Ingles.
The game has no bearing for the Lakers who have been out of playoff contention a few games after the All-Star break. The Jazz, meanwhile, would want to finish strong and possibly take the fourth seed away from the Trail Blazers.
