Wednesday night was supposed to feature two of the top big men in the league battling it out on the basketball court. Instead, both Rudy Gobert and Nikola Jokic will be watching their teams on the sidelines as the Utah Jazz host the Denver Nuggets.
Gobert caught wind of some pre-game commentary about his “battle” with Jokic on the bench and the Jazz center revealed what it's going to take for his adversary to win this encounter:
If he wears the black air forces i got no chance https://t.co/n9568EBKOv

Instead of taking on each other on the hardwood, Gobert and Jokic will need to sit on their respective team's benches. For our part, all we will be left with is to determine which of these big men come out to the game with the better outfit.
Gobert is dealing with a lingering calf injury and Wednesday's game is his fifth consecutive missed contest for the Jazz. The reigning Defensive Player of the Year has yet to practice with his team so it does not sound like he's close to returning.
Jokic, on the other hand, is nursing a new injury. He's apparently experiencing some soreness on his right toe which prompted the Nuggets coaching staff to give him the night off. The injury does not sound serious, though, so The Joker should be back on the floor sooner rather than later.
