The Utah Jazz received some promising news recently, as it has been reported that their starting center, Rudy Gobert, may return to action soon, after already participating in some non-contact drills, according to Erick Woodyard of the Deseret News.

Based on the clip, the French international appears to be no longer hampered by the PCL sprain and bone bruise he was suffering from that took him out of commission. A recent evaluation on Gobert shows that he is on schedule in his recovery. He just needs to be a full participant in practices before being allowed to suit up for the Jazz again.
Gobert’s return will be a huge boost to the Salt Lake City team as they are currently struggling to string some wins together. They have dropped to 10th place in the Western Conference standings with a 17-25 record. The Jazz have also lost seven of their last nine games, further emphasizing their huge hole in the middle. Missing Gobert's services greatly affects their defensive game plan as he is one of the most feared rim protectors in the entire league.
The 25-year-old has missed the Jazz's last 12 games, but he is hoping to regain his old form quickly and become a solid contributor again for Utah. In 18 games so far this season, Gobert is averaging solid numbers of 11.6 points, 9.6 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 2.3 blocks in 29.9 minutes per game. If he can produce close to his averages once he returns, the Jazz would become dark horse for that final playoff spot in the West.
