On Saturday, March 7, Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert gave his game-worn arm sleeves to Detroit Pistons fans at Little Caesars Arena.
Gobert tested positive for the coronavirus on Wednesday. As a result, the NBA season has been suspended.
Players from the Cleveland Cavaliers, New York Knicks, Toronto Raptors, Boston Celtics and Pistons were told to self-quarantine after Gobert tested positive for the coronavirus. The Jazz played the aforementioned teams within the last 10 days.
Jazz shooting guard Donovan Mitchell was the only other player on the team to get the coronavirus. Hopefully, these innocent Pistons fans are okay after interacting with Gobert.
The Golden State Warriors were already scheduled to play the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday at the Chase Center without any fans in attendance. Now after that happened to Gobert and Mitchell, there is a real possibility the rest of the 2019-20 NBA season won't be played, although some around the league are remaining hopeful for an August return.
