The New Orleans Pelicans and Sacramento Kings game on Wednesday got canceled because Kirkland was one of the refs working the game. The NBA season as a whole has been postponed after Jazz All-Stars Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell tested positive for the coronavirus.
We will likely get more tests results moving forward. Hopefully, Gobert and Mitchell are the only NBA people who got infected.
The NBA season won't start again for at least another 30 days. It's going to be longer than that, though.
On Thursday, Adam Silver appeared on TNT's Inside the NBA to discuss the possibilities of how the rest of the season could play out. While Silver did not rule out suspending the season for good, he added that the league could stretch out the season into July if need be.
Article Continues BelowBrad Turner of the LA Times reported that Los Angeles Lakers players came away from a conference call with the sense that owners want to finish the regular season and playoffs, even if it takes the season into July or August.
