The rookies are having a fun time showing their stuff in the preseason games. With no pressure to win, the NBA newbies are wasting no time showcasing their athleticism just like what Jayson Tatum and Ben Simmons did in a matchup between the Boston Celtics and the Philadelphia 76ers.
During one sequence in the contest, Tatum, drafted third overall this year, made a gorgeous move to give him the runway he needed for a two-handed slam. Not to be outdone, Simmons made a dash towards the other end of the floor and caught a lob pass from T.J. McConnell for an alley-oop jam.

These are the kinds of skills we all know the Celtics and Sixers rookies have in them. Then again, this is just the preseason and the important thing is for them to translate their preseason success into the regular season when they both will be playing significant roles for their respective teams.
Jayson Tatum and Ben Simmons are projected to be among the top competitors for the Rookie of the Year award.
