Since the start of the season, a new Kevin Durant has been playing for the Golden State Warriors — once mostly calm and collected during games. However, he turned into a more intense persona, resulting to an increased amount of technical fouls and ejections slapped against him.

However, after getting hit with another technical on Monday, Kevin Durant made it clear that he will not apologize to anyone if they got offended by any of his T's. The Warriors superstar also added, via Chris Haynes of ESPN, that receiving more technical fouls this season will not define who he is as a person.

“People have been trying to tell me who I am mentally for the longest,” Durant told ESPN. “I can't control how people feel about me outside of my game. I approach the game how I approach it and I'm not going to apologize for how I play and who I am out there.”

“If you get offended by it, then just deal with it. A lot of people have been trying to tell me who I am because I get techs on the basketball court, which is outrageous to even think about. But I can't control that. I'm just going to keep hooping.”

So far this season, the reigning Finals MVP already has seven technical fouls and three ejections. While it could be a result of being more vocal and pumped up during games, he also understands that the Warriors need him on the court to help them win games, and he should avoid receiving 16 technical calls for the season in order to avoid an automatic suspension.

The rate may be alarming at this point, but being the veteran that he is, it won’t be surprising if Kevin Durant will be able to keep his emotions in check better as the season progresses. That said, he will have the chance to contribute to his team’s cause on the court, rather than outside of it if he gets suspended or ejected.
