Prior to a nightmare of a day addressing the media after the comments made about his former team, the Oklahoma City Thunder, and his former coach Billy Donovan, Kevin Durant was his most candid-self with a fan that commented in one of his YouTube videos.
Durant has addressed plenty of critics during last season, but even more so after validating his move to the Bay Area with a championship, going in a social media rampage of back-and-forths with fans.
The Finals MVP ultimately explained that despite his superstar status, he genuinely cares about what people think of him like other normal people do — despite the fame and the millions.

“Of my stature, I play basketball, I got acne, I grew up with nothing,” Durant wrote, “in [sic] still figuring myself out in my late 20, I slide in DMs, I make fun of my friends, I drink beers and play Xbox. I’m closer to you than u think.”

A 10-year veteran of the league going into his 11th, Durant is ultimately human as all of us are and reacts to things just as a dentist would if he had a bad reputation going around that he didn't feel was fair or accurate about him or his practice.
This vulnerable side of Durant is perhaps the one that best explains his reasoning for his need to confront his doubters and constantly prove them wrong and while it might have happened excessively this summer, it only proves he's only human once the No. 35 jersey isn't covering his chest.
