The Golden State Warriors will be picking once again at the bottom of the board in this upcoming 2018 NBA Draft, but the team could opt to spend again in hopes to add some late round value and youth to their star-studded roster.
Owner Joe Lacob, who attended the NBA Draft Combine for the second time, taking a look at some mid-to-late rounders, spoke to ESPN2 about how the Warriors will manage with this upcoming draft, picking 28th overall.
“For us, it’s (players drafted) 20 to 40 or 20 to 50. Those are the players that are here to some extent,” Lacob explained, according to Karl Buscheck of 95.7 The Game. “And that’s where we are — 28. Maybe we’ll buy a second-round pick again. I’m very aggressive with respective to those, as you know.”
This isn't the first time that the Warriors have gone to such lengths to acquire talent, doing so at the two previous drafts in 2016 and 2017.

Last summer, the Warriors bought the rights for the No. 38 pick from the Chicago Bulls, which turned into Oregon product Jordan Bell.
In 2016, the team also grabbed the No. 38 pick, this time from the Milwaukee Bucks, selecting Patrick McCaw out of UNLV.
During those two years, the Warriors have prioritized a player with good defensive skills and instincts, being the base of their system, filled with two-way players that can impact the game at either end.
