The Golden State Warriors couldn't extend a season-high two-game win streak on Sunday night, losing a fourth quarter battler against the Detroit Pistons in a 115-107 home defeat.
Despite a solid performance by the team's big three, the rest of the team failed to show much, scoring only 23 points in the outing. The Warriors were also tormented by their worst enemy — themselves — turning the ball over a whopping 25 times, resulting in 16 extra field goal attempts for the Pistons.
Article Continues Below“It’s one of those things where we just had some careless situations,” said Curry, according to Connor LeTourneau of The San Francisco Chronicle. “It was a little bit of everything, to be honest.”
But regardless of a shaky 4-3 start to the season, Curry noted he's been watching his team slowly becoming the fine-tuned all-around machine they've been for the past three seasons.
“We’re really close to being ourselves,” he said. “For the most part, little things are keeping us from really opening up the gates.”
Head coach Steve Kerr has expressed concern with his team's lack of conditioning, their lack of focus, and even forgetting plays throughout the game — a worrisome sign for a team that is used to surgical execution on the court.
