The Christmas Day showdown between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors certainly fit the billing. However, it may have been somewhat spoiled by a few controversial no-calls late in the fourth quarter.

Perhaps the most notable came when Cavs superstar LeBron James absorbed plenty of contact from Warriors superstar Kevin Durant on his layup attempt with under 30 seconds left in the game. As the referees were reviewing which team had possession of the ball, Durant can be seen giving his two cents on the no-call:

“He's (LeBron James) too big. He's too big for that. Nah, he's too big, that ain't no foul.”

While the size differential between the two clearly favors James, it is not substantial to the point where Durant is unable to affect his shot. However, the referees ultimately let it slide as the Warriors went on to win 99-92.

Durant has since given his piece regarding the no-calls late in the game and they largely echoed that of what he said in the clip. Although he may have gotten away with this one, he certainly has not been among the benefactors when it comes it referees as one of the NBA's league leaders in technical fouls (7) and ejections (3). That said, he certainly had no complaints about how the game was called this time around.
