There has been a lot of uncertainty surrounding Washington Wizards superstar John Wall of late. The five-time All-Star played in only 32 games last season due to a devastating Achilles injury, and at this point, it is unclear if he will be able to make his return for his team in the 2019-20 campaign.
According to Wall himself, he is not pushing himself too hard, and that he is not exactly in a hurry to return to the court.
John Wall on his injury: “I’m in no rush (to come back). Only me can know how my body feels.“ Says his timetable “is all up to John Wall.”

Achilles injuries are one of the worst types of injuries any athlete can suffer, but it even makes it more difficult for a guy like Wall, who relies so heavily on his quickness and explosiveness. To some extent, this fact makes it understandable why the 6-foot-4 point guard is taking more of a slow and steady approach when it comes to making his long-awaited comeback.
Moreover, Wall has proven his durability in the past, having been able to play in at least 77 regular season games in four out of the past six seasons. Perhaps the fact that the Wizards are currently in a bit of a state of limbo has also added to Wall's hesitation to make an earlier-than-expected return to the court.
It is also worth noting that Wall is still in contract with the Wizards for the next four seasons, during which he is expected to earn $170 million.
Now at 29 years of age, it will be interesting to see how the former first overall pick's career will play out the rest of the way.
