The Washington Wizards had a special visitor on Monday. Hall of Famer Ray Allen stopped by to talk to the team about nutrition and health.
While speaking to reporters, Allen said he's not in D.C. for a 10-day contract with the Wizards, even though the sharpshooter is still in great shape:
Ray Allen spoke to #Wizards players and is now addressing reporters. Asked why he’s in Washington, Allen jokes: “Well I’m not here on a 10-day.”
Allen, who played 18 NBA seasons, seriously looks like he can play some more

Allen was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2018. The 10-time All-Star and two-time champion averaged 18.9 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.4 assists in his career while shooting 45.2 percent from the field, 40.0 percent from beyond the arc and 89.4 percent from the free-throw line.
The Wizards, who are 1-2 on the season, picked the right guy to listen to about nutrition and health. Allen was one of the fittest players during his playing days. Wizards star shooting guard Bradley Beal can learn a lot from Allen in terms of how to come off ball-screens and pin downs, as well as keeping his body fresh during an 82-game regular season.
Allen's last season in the NBA was during the 2013-14 campaign with the Miami Heat. Before Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry came along, Allen was universally recognized as the greatest shooter of all time. Allen has the most 3-pointers in NBA history at 2,973. Curry will eventually break that record, but it doesn’t change the fact that Allen is one of the greatest snipers the NBA has ever seen.
