The Washington Wizards have turned their sheer Game 7 heartbreak pain back into utmost confidence this season. Having secured Otto Porter Jr.'s stay and locked down forward Mike Scott and backup point man Tim Frazier, the team's backcourt feels more confident than ever they'll make a dent in this Eastern Conference.
“I feel like I am the best point guard in the Eastern Conference,” point guard John Wall told ESPN's Brian Windhorst. “Maybe people didn't get to see me on national TV as much last year, but they will this year.”
The Raleigh native has never been shy of confidence, but he's taken it to another level over the summer, stating he was the best two-way point guard in the league.
John Wall has the numbers to back it up as well, logging career highs in points (23.1), assists, (10.7), and steals (2.0) throughout 78 starts last season for the Wizards.

“I want to be in the MVP conversation,” Wall said. “My expectations are very high.”
The Kentucky standout's game has taken off during the last couple of years, along with his running backcourt mate Bradley Beal, who enjoyed a career-year along with him.
Yet head coach Scott Brooks was positive about the enthusiasm, but cautioned there's a long road ahead.
“There's a confidence to our team,” Brooks said. “But we still have to get better.”
