The Washington Wizards are finally starting to get back on track thanks to the return of superstar point guard John Wall. Despite their resiliency, it became apparent that Washington was severely undermanned in Wall's absence.
That said, there has long been speculation that the four-time All-Star could potentially serve as an ambassador to New Orleans Pelicans superstar center DeMarcus Cousins in free agency this summer. However, Wall has declined any notion of possibly trying to recruit Cousins to the Wizards, according to Candace Buckner of The Washington Post:
“Do I recruit him? Nah, we’re just brothers,” Wall said. “We just talk. Why wouldn’t we want to play together? We’ve been brothers since we were 14. Whatever happens, if it happens, it happens. If not, I don’t think there’s too much recruiting that needs to be done there. I think everybody knows what our brotherhood is, where we are.”

Many are aware of the history between the two as former teammates during their days at the University of Kentucky. Wall was even admittedly surprised to hear that Cousins had been traded to the Pelicans following last year's All-Star Game after the two had conversations about potentially joining up in Washington.
Although Cousins has thrived individually in New Orleans, the Pelicans have largely stumbled to a 15-16 record. Meanwhile, the Wizards have done little to prove they have enough talent outside of John Wall and shooting guard Bradley Beal to legitimately compete with the likes of the Boston Celtics or Cleveland Cavaliers. That said, it will be interesting to see if Wall does indeed decide to take a wait-and-see approach this offseason.
